This year, our friends Pami and Nimmi completed their fifth Camino de Santiago walk for the Trust, raising sufficient sponsorship money to fund our latest project in Nepal – a dental camp in the Langtang area of the Himalayas.

The dental camp was an eight day operation which included two days travelling each way, two days at the Medical Centre at Mundu, one day at Kyangien Gumba and one day at the Lama Hotel village.

Over 70 villagers attended during the four days of treatment. This included 22 patients having extractions, 28 patients having RPD (Removal Partial Denture) and 24 patients being screened. All of this was carried out by six dental staff.

For the more serious major cases, the dental hospital in Kathmandu has agreed to give a discount to the patients who couldn't be treated at the dental camp.

Many thanks to Pammi and Nimmi and to all their friends and relatives who sponsored them - this wouldn't have happened without you.

We received this message from our contact in Kathmandu “This was really helpful and was a new experience for the community people. Thank you so much for making this possible”.
